For sure, many of you, like me, remember from childhood very delicious school cakes according to GOST: so-called sand bars with jam. Extraordinarily tender, friable, fragrant-fruit cakes are now often baked to their children: after all, in schools, they are no longer sold in buffets. Cooking cakes with fruit jam on this recipe is easy and simple. Are you with me?

Ingredients:

  • 325 grams of flour;
  • 200 grams of soft butter;
  • 130 grams of sugar;
  • 8 grams of vanilla sugar (one sachet);
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder;
  • 1 fresh chicken egg;
  • 300 grams of fruit jam (apple, pear, cherry) - at your discretion.

Very tasty school cakes according to GOST. Step-by-step recipe

  1. To make a dough for pastries, add all the ingredients in one bowl.
  2. To soft cream butter (hold for a while at room temperature) add vanilla sugar and egg. Beat the mixer until smooth.
  3. Then pour the sifted flour together with the baking powder. We continue to whisk.
  4. We knead the dough for pastry to uniformity with our hands, collect it in a bowl, wrap it in a bag.
  5. We remove the ready dough for school cakes for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  6. After the lapse of time, we take out the dough, and roll it out on parchment into a layer: 1 cm thick.
  7. We shift it along with the paper on a baking sheet (I have a baking sheet size of 33 by 30 centimeters), level it.
  8. At a temperature of 220 degrees in the oven, bake the cake: to a golden color. Do not overdo: the cake should not be too roast, otherwise it will become stiff.
  9. The edges (about 1 cm wide) are immediately cut off and we make a crumb.
  10. We cut the cake into two equal parts and leave it to cool.
  11. For the filling of cakes we need 300 grams of jam. I use cherry: I like the combination of a sweet base with a slight sourness of jam. But you can use any other jam or thick jam - for your taste.
  12. Half the cooled cake is transferred to the board, spread with jam and cover with the second half of the cake: it is also lubricated with jam. From above all we cover prepared crumb. Let stand for 30-40 minutes at room temperature.
  13. Cut into strips width of 10 centimeters, shift delicious cakes according to GOST on a dish - and you can try.
